3.9 Standard Policy Provisions
Life insurance policies in the beginning of history were sketchy at best. There was entirely too much latitude given to the insurer, giving the company authority to change policy terms as they deemed fit without the knowledge or consent of the policyowner. As a result, claims would be submitted and insurers would deny them on some technicality or another.
