3.13.8 Other Insureds Rider

The other insureds rider allows the policyowner to add other family members to the base policy. For instance, the husband's policy may be for $100,000 and he wants to take out a $10,000 policy on his wife. Instead of purchasing a separate policy for her, he can add her coverage to his $100,000 policy, usually in the form of a term insurance add-on. This rider can be used in family plan policies. By using this method, premium costs are kept lower.
