5.5 Field Underwriting Procedures
As mentioned earlier, the agent is often referred to as the field underwriter. As such, the agent typically:
- initiates the process through proper solicitation;
- completes the application thoroughly and accurately, obtaining appropriate signatures;
- collects the initial premium; and
- issues a receipt.
