19.12.1 Modified Community Rating
Modified Community Rating means that all small groups are afforded the same pricing for everyone in the same category or class, identical by county of residence. Regulations do acquiesce somewhat, permitting a limited 15% plus or minus rate variance from the approved community rate to compensate for health changes and/or claims experience.
- Renewal cost changes cannot exceed 10% annually for health status.
- Rate increases must apply to the complete group, not individual employees.
- Increases in group size may permit discounts.
