1.11 Prohibited Practices
There are always two sides to a coin. Fortunately, there are more ethical agents than unethical. Florida statutes define the following practices as unethical or questionable under certain circumstances.
- Twisting
- Churning
- Misrepresentation
- Misuse of Premiums
- Rebating
- Coercion
- Unfair Discrimination
Keep in mind that the Department may temporarily suspend the license of an agent who has been charged with a felony. The suspension shall continue if the licensee is convicted or if adjudication of guilt is withheld.
First we will study Florida's Replacement Rule and then each one of the above listed practices.
