20.2.1 Continuing Education
To remain in compliance and maintain their licensure, all agents are required to fulfill continuing education requirements of 24 hours, including 3 hours on the subject matter of ethics, every two years in basic or higher-level courses approved by the Department.
After 6 years of licensure, 20 hours of CE every 2 years is required in intermediate or advanced level courses. After 25 years, only 10 hours of CE every 2 years is required.
Each agent must complete, as part of his/her required number of continuing education hours every two years, a minimum of three hours of continuing education on the subject of ethics approved by the Department.
Any person who holds a license to solicit or sell life insurance must complete a minimum of three hours in continuing education on the subject of suitability in annuity and life insurance transactions. A licensee may use the hours obtained under this requirement to satisfy the requirement for continuing education in ethics as well.
