1.6 Government Insurers
All of the insurers mentioned previously are private insurers. Federal and state government insurance programs are commonly known as social insurance programs. All of the following are government insurance programs, though each has its own criterion for benefits. Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid programs will be addressed in detail later in this course.
