13.2 Basic Medical Expense Plans
Medical expense insurance pays benefits for nonsurgical doctors' fees commonly rendered in a hospital, and sometimes pays for home and office calls as well. Basically, medical expense insurance can pay for all medical treatment and services (always dependent upon the policy). With medical expense insurance, benefits depend upon loss experience, and many stipulate maximum benefit limits.
Coverage
Medical expense insurance is designed to provide financial protection against the cost of medical care for accidents and sickness.
Basic Medical insurance limits coverage to specific medical care. Major Medical insurance can work either as a supplement to a basic plan or as a comprehensive stand-alone plan providing more extensive coverage.
