19.5 Policy Clauses and Provisions

Group health insurance policies are required to contain certain provisions. Certain benefits are required by Florida law to be provided to eligible individuals and other benefits are required to be offered to those individuals.

Outline of Coverage

Florida law requires that an Outline of Coverage accompany every individual or family accident and health insurance policy. The outline can be delivered to the applicant at the time the application is taken. The Outline of Coverage contains:

1) A summary of the principal exclusions and limitations of the policy;

2) A summary of the renewal and cancellation provisions of the policy; and

3) A briefing of the benefits and coverages provided in the policy.
